Asmita Hockey state level hockey competition inaugurated with great pomp
Rajnandgaon (Team Newsbuddy): In the Asmita Hockey state level junior girls category being organised under the aegis of Sports Authority of India, Hockey India and Chhattisgarh Hockey, Sports Hockey Academy Raipur defeated Janjgir Champa by 9-0 goals, in the second match Bilaspur defeated Kanker by 3-0 goals, Kabirdham defeated Durg by 11-1 goals, while in today’s fourth match host Rajnandgaon started its winning campaign by defeating Korba by 19-0 goals. The colourful inauguration of the competition was organised in the presence of Mrs. Rekha Meshram, former member of Women’s Commission, Ms. Manibhaskar Councillor, Mr. Chhotelal Ramteke Councillor, Mr. A. Ekka Assistant Director Sports and Youth Welfare Department Rajnandgaon, Mr. Neelam Chand Jain, Mr. Bhushan Saw, Mr. Prakash Sharma, Prince Bhatia, Mr. Mahendra Singh Thakur, Ms. Divya and Priyanka as supervisors from Sai and other senior hockey players and members.
The chief guest of the inauguration of the Asmita Hockey State Level League Girls Hockey Championship, which started today at the International Astroturf Stadium, Rekha Meshram said that Rajnandgaon city has been known as the nursery of hockey for years. What cannot girls do today? Today our girls are playing hockey, cricket and many such games.
There is no such work today that girls cannot do today. They are walking shoulder to shoulder with boys. Manibhaskar, who was presiding, said that the government is doing every possible help for sports and players. She said that we all will always be at the forefront for the promotion of sports together. Chhattisgarh Hockey President Firoz Ansari, while welcoming the guests present, said that as per the instructions of Sports Authority of India and Hockey India, Asmita Hockey State Level Hockey Tournament is being organized with the aim of promoting grassroot hockey, in which there are many districts which do not get a chance to show their sports performance at the national level, they are getting a chance to play through such events. On this occasion, the guests were welcomed by presenting a garland and a bouquet. The guests reached the ground and got introduced to the participating players. The guests were given mementoes by the organizing committee.
The program was conducted by Ranvijay Pratap Singh, manager of Digvijay Stadium. Under the competition, two matches were played today on 18 February in the morning, in which in the first match Hockey Hockey Sports Academy Raipur defeated Janjgir Champa by 9-0 goals. From Sports Academy Raipur’s side, Namrata scored 4 goals, Neheshwari scored 2 goals, Neha, Nandita, Mina scored 1 goal each, whereas Janjgir Champa could not score even a single goal. In second match played between Bilaspur and Kanker, in which Bilaspur defeated Kanker by 3-0 goals. From Bilaspur’s side, Riya, Dolly, Madhu Sindhar scored 1-1 goals.
In third match played between Kabirdham and Durg, in which Kabirdham defeated Durg by 11-1 goals in a one-sided match. From Kabirdham’s side, Yashoda scored 7 goals, Devki, Rukmani, Monica scored 1-1 goals, whereas from Durg’s side, Akshpravin scored 1 goal. Today’s fourth and final match was played between host Rajnandgaon and Korba, in which the host Rajnandgaon defeated Korba by 19-0 goals. For host Rajnandgaon, Shital Yadav scored 10 goals, Akshita Ahuja scored 4 goals, Dubi Rawat scored 3 goals and Simran scored 2 goals and gave a winning start.
