Indore first city to endorse PM Modi’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Indore Municipal Corporation has become the first municipal corporation in the country to pass a resolution in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative. In a significant meeting chaired by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, several crucial decisions related to the city’s development were made. Projects worth over ₹100 crore were approved, and the budget for the financial year 2025-26 was recommended for approval by the Municipal Council. The meeting also approved the appointment of a consultant to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of a new municipal corporation building and workshop building. Additionally, the Indore Municipal Corporation decided to develop its own online portal, separate from the E-Nagar Palika Portal 2.0, to offer improved services to citizens. A GIS survey for property tax assessment was also approved.
To enhance tourism and recreational facilities, the development and renovation of Bilawali Lake were approved under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which will include paddle boating, water sports, and other activities. To strengthen the city’s waste collection system, the purchase of 100 closed electric garbage tippers and 11 backhoe loaders was sanctioned.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, multi-story residential units were allocated in various complexes, with the list of beneficiaries from MIG and LIG categories being approved. The establishment of water ATMs at 25 different locations across Indore was also approved to provide clean drinking water to citizens. Furthermore, the installation of swings, roundabouts, and gym equipment in various city parks was sanctioned. The meeting also decided on locations for establishing Smart Fish Parlors under the Chief Minister’s Fisherman Prosperity Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Mayor-in-Council members Rajendra Rathore, Niranjan Singh Chauhan, Ashwini Shukla, Nandkishore Pahadia,  Rajesh Udawat, Abhishek (Bablu) Sharma, Priya Dangi, Rakesh Jain, Manish (Mama) Sharma, along with all additional commissioners and other officials.
