‘Vikasit Bharat Youth Parliament’ in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly held

Dipanshu, Ankur of Durg, IIFA of Surajpur present their views in Parliament House
Raipur (Team Newsbuddy):The state level “Vikasit Bharat Youth Parliament” program organized in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly concluded with great pomp. This nationwide initiative run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India aims to provide a platform for youth to participate in democratic processes and ensure their active role in national policy-making. Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Raipur (Autonomous Body of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India) and National Service Scheme were entrusted with the important responsibility of organizing this event.
Tankaram Verma, (Minister, Sports and Youth Welfare, Chhattisgarh) inaugurated the function. Addressing the youth, he said, “Our state is full of youth energy. From such platforms, youth can not only express their views, but are also inspired to play an active role in nation building.”
At the closing ceremony, the chief guest was O. P. Choudhary, (Finance Minister, Chhattisgarh) concluded the function. In his speech, he said, “The ‘Vikasit Bharat Youth Parliament’ is a meaningful effort to bring the voice of the youth to the national stage. The participants selected from here will bring glory to the state.”
Along with this, Padma Shri Anuj Sharma (MLA, Dharsiwa, Raipur) said, “The dream of a developed India can be realised only by empowering the youth power. This platform gives them a golden opportunity to show their leadership capabilities.”
Baba Khuswant Saheb (MLA, Arang) said in his speech, “We feel proud to see the enthusiasm and creative approach of the youth. I am confident that these youth will set a new direction.”
Shri Vishwavijay Singh Tomar (Chairman, Chhattisgarh Youth Commission) emphasized, “Chhattisgarh Youth Commission is always ready to promote the youth. Such events will provide progressive leadership to the state.”
Shri Atul J. Nikam, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Raipur: “Through this programme, we are trying to develop leadership, logical exchange of ideas and democratic values among the youth of Chhattisgarh.”
Arpit Tiwari, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Raipur: “To increase the participation of youth, this programme is being organised in four phases from district to state and national level, so that more and more participants can come forward.”
Nodal Officer from National Service Scheme, Neeta Bajpai was also present.
Competition and Winners
140 participants from Chhattisgarh participated in this state level programme, who got the opportunity to express their views through a three-minute speech. The jury unanimously selected three participants for the national level:
- Dipanshu Netam (Durg) – First
- Ankur Pandey (Durg) – Second
- Aifa Khatoon (Surajpur) – Third
These three participants will represent Chhattisgarh in the “National Youth Parliament” to be held in Parliament House, New Delhi from 1 to 3 April 2025.
The judges of the competition were Ajay Kale, Ravindra Thengadi, Prasanna Nimonkar, Dr. Manjiri Bakshi, Geeta Dalal, Neeta Dumre, Sunita Chansoria, Vijay Mishra, Siddhant Tripathi, Vishkha Tofkhanewala. The event was organized in four phases. 1. First phase (video round): Preliminary selection of 150 participants from 14 nodal districts. 2. Second phase (District Youth Parliament): 10-10 participants from each nodal district (total 140) will be given the platform. 3. Third phase (State Youth Parliament): 3 best participants from these will be selected for the national platform. 4. Fourth phase (National Youth Parliament): It will be held in Parliament House in New Delhi from 1 to 3 April 2025. This program organized in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly gave the youth of the state a golden opportunity to present their views with democratic values.
