13 killed, more than 10 injured in head-on collision near Raipur

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy) : 13 people died on the spot while more than 10 people were seriously injured in a tragic road accident near Kharora under the Vidhan Sabha police station area of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The accident took place in Bangoli village near Kharora when a Mazda vehicle and a high-speed trailer collided head-on.
According to the information received, there were about 50 people in the Mazda vehicle who were returning to their village Chataud of Arang after attending a family event (Chhathi) in Bana village. As soon as the vehicle reached near Bangoli village, a high-speed trailer coming from the opposite direction hit it directly. The collision was so severe that the Mazda vehicle was shattered and many people were trapped in it. With the help of local villagers and police, the injured were pulled out after a lot of effort and admitted to Mekahara Hospital in Raipur, where the condition of many remains critical. As soon as the news of the accident was received, senior officials of the district administration and police reached the spot and inspected the relief and rescue work. According to the police, the trailer was going from Pune to Ranchi. The driver of the trailer has been taken into custody and interrogation is going on.
So far 13 people who lost their lives in the accident have been identified. The dead include 4 innocent children and 9 women. The names of the deceased are as follows:

Kriti Sahu (50 years) – Chataud, Vidhan Sabha Thana
Kunti Sahu (55 years) – Chataud, Vidhan Sabha Thana

Wave of grief
This accident has sent a wave of grief across the region. There is mourning in many villages, as many families of the same village have lost their loved ones. There is chaos in the houses of the deceased. The administration has said that all possible help will be given to the victim families. The Chief Minister has also expressed grief over this horrific road accident and announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
The police have registered a case against the trailer driver and started an investigation. The causes of the accident are being investigated thoroughly, in which it is being seen whether the high speed of the trailer or negligence caused the accident.
