Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): In a major step towards enhancing global academic cooperation, the Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) Nord Europe, France. The agreement marks a significant milestone in strengthening international ties in education and research between India and France.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, on behalf of the institute. The Office of International Affairs at IIT Bhilai played a pivotal role in facilitating the agreement and coordinating the collaboration.
This strategic partnership aims to promote joint initiatives of mutual interest, focusing on the advancement of both institutions through academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation. The agreement will pave the way for enhanced student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and the development of joint academic programs.
A major highlight of the MoU is the provision for undergraduate and postgraduate students from IIT Bhilai to pursue studies in France and earn joint degrees, offering them valuable international exposure and a global academic perspective.
The collaboration will particularly emphasize research and academic initiatives in key areas such as Mechanical Engineering, Polymer and Composite Materials, Mechatronics, and Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence—disciplines where both institutions bring strong expertise and innovation potential.
This agreement aligns with IIT Bhilai’s vision of fostering a vibrant international academic environment and reflects the growing synergy between Indian and French institutions in science and technology.
The partnership is expected to contribute significantly not only to the academic enrichment of both institutions but also to the broader educational, social, and cultural development of their respective regions.
