Water dialogue on ‘Our water is our responsibility’ held

Indore (Team Newsbuddy):Social organization Abhyas Mandal organized an open forum on water dialogue in the Press Club on 27th June today, the topic of which was ‘Our water is our responsibility’. While introducing the topic, the secretary of the organization, Dr. Mala Singh Thakur said that Abhyas Mandal stands with every problem of the city.
Rains have started and this rain water should not be misused, it should be saved. In the program organized today, learned speakers and subject experts present here will put forth their views. Anil Bhoje said that there are many schemes, in this context, water audit should be done. Young Kunal Bhanwar said that ground water is getting endangered, drinking water is not available in many cities, this is a serious issue. Girdhar Mundhra said that where the chambers are made, and in the middle of the road, some space should be left in such a way that the rain water can slowly go down. Sadashiv Kautuk said through a poem that the sea says that I give you water and you should save me. Gautam Kothari, while speaking on Narmada Gambhirsangam, said that in a place like Pithampur, water can be collected naturally but the government is not paying attention to it. Shyam Pandey said that every person should start water management from his home. Dr. Rupesh ji said that efforts should be made to save the water from the roof and bring it down to one’s own house. Dr. OP Joshi said that a water literacy campaign should be run. OP Joshi also made a chart on the unwanted misuse of water and distributed it. Dr. SL Garg said that not only the city’s water is getting exhausted but the tears from people’s eyes are also getting exhausted. This is a serious issue. Dr. Dilip Vaghela laid special emphasis on the responsibilities of the Municipal Corporation.
Hare Ram Bajpai said that he has also discussed the campaign of Abhyas Mandal in Narmada Control Authority and expected their cooperation. Councilor Sonali Simroth said that water warriors should be prepared in every house and they should work as a water revolution. Sandeep Narulkar said that we are wasting more water than what is coming to our earth. The water received from above should be used properly. People should object to the water spent in works like road washing. Arvind Joshi put forth his views on water conservation. Expert Dr. Mukesh Chauhan said that very good suggestions have come here and they should be thought over. We are able to save only 20% of rainwater, 80% is wasted. This is a serious issue. The President of the organization, Rameshwar Gupta also got an oath letter issued in this regard that we should understand the importance of every drop. The program was conducted by Dr. Swapnil Vyas and in the end, Vaishali Khare expressed her gratitude. A large number of people participated in the program. *Indore should also become number 1 in water management
*Ensure a permanent water storage system in the Kanha-Saraswati river, a gift of nature – a plan should be made for cleaning, deepening and continuous availability of water.
*A water sewage board should be formed
*A ‘Code of Conduct’ for water management should be made – in which the role of citizens, institutions and the government regarding water use is clear*.
*Water education should be made compulsory in schools and colleges – so that the next generation becomes water-sensitive.
*A campaign called ‘Jal Prahari’ should be started – volunteers should take the responsibility of water monitoring in mohallas and wards.
The program concluded with the resolution to “Protect every drop of water”. The Abhyaas Mandal also announced that this dialogue will now take the form of a continuous campaign, in which a resolution will be taken to make Indore a water-conserving city with public participation.
