Devastation in Himachal’s Kullu too
Jammu (Team Newsbuddy). Cloudburst occurred at different places in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Sunday morning. This is the second incident of cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir in the last three days. Seven people died and many are injured in Jod Valley area of Kathua district. Apart from Jod, landslides also occurred in Mathre Chak, Bagard-Changra and Dilwan-Hutli.
Kathua Deputy SP Rajesh Sharma said – 2 to 3 houses have been damaged in the landslide. 6 people are reported to be stranded. The road has been damaged at many places on the National Highway including Janglot. The railway track is also disrupted. The devastation caused by monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh is not stopping. A cloudburst occurred in Takoli of Kullu at around 4 am today. Debris is scattered all around after flash floods in Panarsa, Nagwai of Kullu. A cloud burst in Shalanala of Kullu at around 4 am on Sunday morning. This has caused heavy damage in many areas of Kullu and Mandi. Debris came on Takoli Sabji and Takoli four lane due to flood. More than 10 houses have been damaged in different areas of Kullu-Mandi. Debris has filled inside many houses. The wall of the office and colony of Afcon company broke due to the flood in Shalanala ravine. Here the employees saved their lives by running away, the houses of local people also suffered a lot of damage. More than 10 vehicles have also been damaged in Takoli, Panarsa and Nagwai. The Chandigarh-Manali four lane has been closed at many places in Mandi and Kullu. Damage due to flash flood has also been reported in Bagi Parashar of Mandi district. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a yellow alert for rain in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur today. So far 261 people have died in this monsoon season in the state.
