LSP gives memo

Dhamtari (Team Newsbuddy): Raghu Thakur, founder and patron of the Democratic Samajwadi Party, has said that if the problems and demands of the tribals of Nagari Sihawa region are not met, then a movement will be launched in a systematic manner from the district headquarters to the state and national capital.

Under the leadership of Shri Thakur, the tribals of Nagari Sihawa region had reached the tehsil level to submit a memorandum regarding the demands of electricity, land lease, school etc. Amidst torrential rain, tribal women and men stood at the Ravanbhata ground of Nagari for two hours with umbrellas to listen to Raghu Thakur. After the meeting, they reached the tehsil headquarters to submit a memorandum, getting drenched.

Addressing the people of Nagari Sihawa, Raghu Thakur said that despite the lease of land, the tribals of the villages of Thelkabharri, Chhuibhhari, Umradehan, Kusumbharri, Boirnala Devbharri of this region have neither got possession nor basic civic amenities have reached there. If the government does not fulfill the demand soon, they will be evicted like the Kauravas who did not give even five villages to the Pandavas.

Raghu Thakur said that the people of Nagari Sihawa have continuously carried out non-violent movements, but instead of spending money there, the government is pouring money in the areas affected by Naxal violence or is wasting money like water in the Vista Project for capitals like Delhi.

Even in Naxal violence, tribals have been dying on both sides. If the people sitting in the government have got the opportunity, then they should do such work that makes a place in the hearts of the people, otherwise people keep coming and going in power. Today, the Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh is a tribal, but the irony is that the problems of the tribals who believe in peaceful struggle are not being resolved. Those who call development development should see the reality. The roads of the entire city are submerged in water in the rain. The tehsil office premises are also filled with water. Praising the police, he said that the Nagari police is dutiful and a friend of the poor. They are doing their duty even while getting drenched in such rain.

The meeting was addressed and conducted by Ashok Panda, Shyam Manohar Singh and Shiv Netam, officials of the Democratic Samajwadi Party Chhattisgarh unit. Hundreds of men and women attended the meeting and reached the tehsil office in a procession while getting drenched and gave a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to the ADM.
