Raipur(TEAM NEWS BUDDY) Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the budget of Chhattisgarh for the financial year 2024-25 is the budget that will shape the direction and condition of development of Chhattisgarh for many years to come. He said that this budget is a revenue increasing budget of the state. There is no new tax proposal in this budget, nor is there any proposal to increase the existing tax rates. This budget is a budget that will ensure inclusive development of all sections and realize the dream of developed Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh of Amritkaal will play a leading role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of building a developed India by the year 2047.
Chief Minister Sai met Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary was addressing media representatives in the committee room after presenting the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Assembly. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand and Finance Secretary Shri Ankit Anand were also present.
Chief Minister Sai said that our focus in the budget is on GYAN i.e. poor, youth, food provider farmers and women empowerment. All sections have been taken care of in the budget. This budget is also the vision document of our government, which reflects the vision of all-round development of Chhattisgarh. He said that our effort will be to double the GDP of the state in the coming five years.
Highlighting the key points of the budget, the Chief Minister said that special provisions have been made for tribal dominated Bastar and Surguja. For tendu leaf collectors, the tendu leaf collection rate has been increased from Rs 4000 per standard bag to Rs 5500 per standard bag and a provision for bonus has been made. We will restart the Charan Paduka scheme for tendupata collectors. Similarly, under Deendayal Upadhyaya Landless Agricultural Laborers Scheme, a provision of Rs 500 crore has been made in the budget for annual assistance of Rs 10,000 to landless agricultural labourers. To ensure that the future of the youth is no longer played with, the state government has decided to hand over the investigation of PSC irregularities to the CBI. Provision has been made in the budget for employment of youth.
Sai said that a provision of Rs 10 thousand crore has been made in the budget for Krishi Unnati Yojana. Under this scheme, the difference amount will be paid to more than 24 lakh 72 thousand farmers of the state who sell paddy at support price. For women empowerment, a provision of Rs 3000 crore has been made in the budget under Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Under this scheme, married women will be given assistance of Rs 12 thousand every year. He said that a provision of Rs 3500 crore has been made for supply of free electricity to five horse power agricultural pumps. Similarly, a provision of Rs 8369 crore has been made in the main budget for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Before this, a provision of Rs 3800 crore has been made in the second supplement. For better provision of drinking water, a provision of Rs 5047 crore has been made by doubling the budget of the PHE department for Jal Jeevan Mission.
