Baiga families predominate in 179 villages of Bodla development block and 77 villages of Pandariya in Kabirdham district. For these families, 2081 houses have been approved in Bodla development block and 1474 houses in Pandariya development block. An amount of Rs 40,000 each has been issued to Baiga families as the first installment for the construction of 2996 houses in the first phase. Apart from this, basic facilities like electricity, water, roads, education, health and other basic facilities will be provided in these villages under the scheme.
It is noteworthy that under Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, an amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given in 4 installments to Baiga families for the construction of houses. The first installment will be Rs 40,000 for starting the house, the second installment will be Rs 60,000 when the house is at chair level, the third installment will be Rs 80,000 for casting the house and Rs 20,000 will be given for completion of the house. Apart from this, 95 days wages will be paid under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
