Aanya Rathi of Indore gets silver in national competition

Indore. Anya Rathi, a talented tennis player of Daly College, performed strongly and won a silver medal in the All India Tennis Championship held in Lucknow. Indian Junior Davis Cup team coach Sajid Lodi said that players from all over the country had participated in the competition held in Lucknow. Amidst all this, Anya performed strongly in the doubles category and won the runner-up trophy and brought glory to Indore along with Madhya Pradesh.

In the singles category, Anya reached the quarter finals. In the girls’ doubles category, the pair of Anya and Siddhi Singh had to face defeat in the final against the host Uttar Pradesh pair of Shubhi Ranjan and Soundarya Jaiswal. The host pair also benefited from the local conditions and the encouragement from the fans.
Earlier in the semi-finals, the pair of Anya and Siddhi had easily defeated the pair of Grantha of Bengal and Lavanya of UP, by 6-2, 6-2. Anya and Siddhi registered an easy victory in the quarter finals also. In that match, both of them had defeated Rajasthan’s pair Advika and Drishti 6-1, 6-1.
The opposition pair could score only two games in the entire match.

In the singles category of the same event, Anya defeated Aditri Singh 6-2, 6-4. Then in the next match, she defeated Wahi P. Kaur 6-2, 6-2. But she could not maintain her rhythm in the quarter-finals and Shubhi Ranjan defeated her 5-7, 4-6 in a tough match.
