Major accident in Deepka coal mine, three people buried due to mudslide
2 min readKorba. A major accident took place in SECL’s Deepka coal mine in Korba. Where five people had gone to steal coal in a coal cycle, all five got buried while taking out the coal, two somehow came out to save their lives, while three people are still said to be buried. Three people got buried when the soil caved in. Fell on them. It is being told that the incident took place in Suvabhodi village of Deepka mine under Hardibazar police station, where five youths resident of Bamhani Kona adjacent to the mine had gone to collect coal on bicycle at 3 pm. Pradeep Kamaro, 18, Laxman Odhe, 17, and Satrudhan Kashyap, 27, went to a mine and were stealing coal, when suddenly a large chunk of soil fell on them. Two persons, Amit Saruta, 17, and Laxman Markam sustained back injuries. Both of them somehow came out saving their lives and this information was given to the villagers, after which there was panic in the area. The injured were admitted to the Primary Health Center Hardi Bazar where treatment is going on.
Injured Amit Kumar told that all five are residents of the same village and had come to collect coal. During this accident, three people are still buried, Laxman and he have somehow come out. Laxman has got injured in his waist. According to the local people, the incident took place at 3:00 pm. Even after several hours of the incident, Hardibazar police station reached the spot but no responsible officer of SECL management reached the spot due to which there is huge anger among the villagers.
