CM Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurates VY Sairisa Cancer Care Centre in Raipur

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the VY Sairisa Cancer Care Centre in Raipur on Sunday. The VY Hospital and the Sairisa Health Care Foundation have jointly established the cancer centre at VY Hospital, located in Kamal Vihar, Raipur. Facilities such as radiation therapy, cancer surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, palliative care, and nutritional therapy are available for cancer treatment. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, and Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also participated in the inaugural ceremony.

In his address, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the establishment of this new cancer centre in Raipur will enhance the facilities for cancer treatment in the state. Cancer patients will receive excellent treatment with the modern facilities available at this centre. He stated that the state government is taking several positive steps in the healthcare sector. Changes in people’s lifestyles are causing various diseases. Under government-run schemes, benefits will be provided to economically disadvantaged families in this hospital, which offers facilities for various types of cancer treatment. Generic medicines are also available at the hospital.

He further stated that health and medicine are areas of his interest and priority. As a people representative, he has consistently tried to ensure availability of better treatment at affordable costs.

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, speaking at the program, stated that the country will progress only when there is a decrease in the number of patients. The increasing number of cancer patients in Chhattisgarh is a matter of concern. The establishment of a cancer centre at VY Hospital will benefit the people of the state. Dr. Raman Singh, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, mentioned that the provision of free accommodation for the relatives of patients coming to VY Hospital is commendable. This hospital is operating as a mission, not only benefiting patients from Chhattisgarh but also providing assistance in the treatment of patients from neighbouring states.

Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, described it as a historic moment for Chhattisgarh. The inauguration of a modern cancer centre is a significant step in providing healthcare services in the state. The centre will provide access to treatment of cancer at the local level. Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal congratulated and extended best wishes to the management team and specialists of VY Hospital for establishing the state-of-the-art cancer center. He stated that this hospital has done a commendable job by providing better health services in the field of medicine.

Dr. Purnendu Saxena, Director of VY Hospital’s management team, stated that the establishment of the Cancer Care Centre at VY Hospital will provide relief to cancer patients. The hospital has been operational since 2015, and with the addition of modern facilities and new medical equipment, patients suffering from various diseases are benefiting. With the commencement of the cancer centre, patients from the state will no longer have to go elsewhere for treatment. All types of cancer treatments will now be available at this hospital. Free accommodation arrangements have been made within the hospital premises for the relatives accompanying the patients.

MP Santosh Pandey, MLA Rajesh Munat, Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, members of the board of directors of VY Hospital and VY Sairisa Cancer Centre Dr. Shashikant Parakh, Dr. P.U. Prakash Saxena, Dr. Anand Joshi, Dr. Anil Karnawat, Dr. Rajesh Agrawal, Dr. Vishnu Gupta, Dr. Sridhar Rao, Dr. Subir Srivastava, and Smt. Sujata Rajimwale were also present.
