Concerned over job insecurity, Paytm manager commits suicide

Indore (Team Newsbuddy) : A harrowing tragedy unfolded in Indore, a field manager (operation) employed by Paytm tragically took his own life amidst the company’s tumultuous battle for survival following alleged irregularities highlighted by the RBI.

Gaurav Gupta, the deceased, was discovered hanging at his residence, leaving behind his devastated wife and two young daughters. Initial inquiries indicate that Gaurav was grappling with depression stemming from job insecurity, exacerbated by recent events involving Paytm.

As authorities continue their investigation, speculation arises regarding the existence of a suicide note. Hailing from Gwalior, Gaurav’s family is reeling from the profound loss. This incident casts a somber shadow over Paytm, which has been under intense scrutiny since the RBI’s announcement, instigating anxiety among both customers and employees regarding the company’s future. Following the post-mortem examination conducted on Monday morning, the family has departed for Gwalior with the body, while the police are poised to gather statements from company officials. Gaurav Gupta, aged 40, served as the Paytm Operation Field Manager in Indore.

According to preliminary information provided by his wife to the police, Gaurav had been battling job-related depression for some time, fearing the loss of his employment. It is suspected that this fear drove him to take such drastic action. Gaurav, who had been married for approximately eight years, is survived by his wife Mohini and their two daughters, aged seven and one and a half years, respectively.

The police are actively investigating the existence of a suicide note. Gaurav originally hails from Samadhiya Colony, Gwalior, where his elderly parents and elder brother reside. Notably, Paytm has been thrust into the spotlight following the RBI’s press release, alleging rule violations by the company, leading to widespread panic among both its clientele and workforce regarding the future trajectory of its operations.
