Indore. As the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) prepares for the Mains 2023 examination, candidates have voiced their concerns, urging for an extension of the exam date. On Wednesday, they submitted a memorandum at the MPPSC office in Indore, highlighting the discrepancy between the promised and allotted time frame.
Following the announcement of the State Services Preliminary Examination 2023 results on January 18, 2024, candidates were promised a minimum of 90 days between the preliminary and main examinations. However, the commission has only provided 52 days, falling significantly short of the agreed duration.
This disparity has sparked fears of a repeat of the controversy surrounding the State Service Examination 2019, where appointments are still pending due to decisions by the High Court. To avoid such issues, aspirants are calling for the MP PSC Mains 2023 examination to be scheduled after the final decision of the High Court or for prompt action to be taken to address their concerns.
The main examination in Madhya Pradesh is renowned for its difficulty, and the limited time provided has exacerbated stress and anxiety among candidates, particularly those attempting the exam for the first time.
Adding to the uncertainty, the Madhya Pradesh High Court recently issued an interim decision regarding questions in the State Services Preliminary Examination 2023, raising doubts about certain questions that could potentially impact exam outcomes. The court has suggested the inclusion of affected candidates in the main examination and has scheduled further action for March 12, 2024, which could potentially lead to an extension of the examination. However, the commission plans to proceed with the main examination before such decisions are finalized.
