Tribals alleges encounter between police, maoists in Marda village

Kanker. Questions are being raised regarding the alleged encounter between police and Maoists in Maoist-affected Kanker of Chhattisgarh .
In this alleged encounter, the police had claimed to have killed three suspected Maoists.
Now the tribals of Marda village have claimed that the youths who were killed had no connection with the Maoists.
The tribals have made this claim at a time when on Monday the tribal organizations have announced a symbolic siege of the Assembly regarding the alleged cases related to fake encounters in Bastar and cutting of trees for coal mining in Hasdev Aranya.
Sarpanch of Marda village, Manohar Teta said, “Two youths of the village, Suresh Teta and Rameshwar Negi, had gone to the forest to look for the rope. Anil Hidko, a relative of nearby village Penwari, was also with him. The police killed him and declared him a Maoist. Whereas these three youths have nothing to do with Maoists.”


Sarpanch Manohar Teta has called upon the community organizations of the tribals to raise questions regarding this alleged encounter.
Earlier on Sunday, Kanker Police had claimed that BSF and DRG teams had left after getting information about gathering of Maoists in and around Bhomra, Hurtarai, Michebeda of Koyalibera in Kanker district.
Where there was an encounter with the Maoists on Sunday morning, after which during a search the bodies of three suspected Maoists were recovered. Police had said that the people killed have not been identified.
Here, after the allegations of the villagers, we tried to contact Bastar IG Sundarraj P in this regard, but we could not get his support.
