National Lok Adalat held in Chhattisgarh High Court

Raipur. national Lok Adalat was organized in Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur and all the district courts of the state. On this occasion, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur, Ramesh Sinha, while inspecting the Lok Adalat organized in the High Court, discussed with the judges of the respective division benches, Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Justice Ravindra Kumar Aggarwal and Justice Arvind Kumar Verma. Took information regarding the cases. 96 cases were resolved in the Lok Adalat held in the High Court.

Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha virtually inspected all the district courts of the state through video conferencing and obtained information from the concerned district and session judges regarding the pending cases and resolved cases in the Lok Adalats held in their districts. District and session judges were directed by him to resolve as many cases as possible.

District and Sessions Judge of District Court, Dhamtari, Special Judge Shri K. L. Charyani informed that a case of electricity theft was pending in his court for more than 5 years, in which notice was not being served to the accused. Since the case was incriminating, taking special interest in this case, information was obtained regarding the accused. Information was received that the accused is serving sentence in Central Jail Raipur for some other crime and there is no other living member in her family. With the help of Central Jail, Raipur, after taking consent from the accused, the case was resolved by collecting fine and resignation fee from the remuneration received in jail.
