3.15 lakh banners, posters ,wall writings removed in state under Defacement of Property Act

After the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha general elections came into effect in the state, the process of removing wall writing, posters and banners from public and private properties under the Defacement of Property Act is going on at a fast pace. A total of three lakh 14 thousand 674 publicity materials have been removed from both these types of properties in the state till March 20. Action has been taken on 1 lakh 99 thousand 154 cases related to public properties and 1 lakh 15 thousand 520 cases related to private properties.
Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that a total of three lakh 27 thousand 210 cases have been identified across the state under the Defacement of Property Act by all the collectors and district election officers. These include 2 lakh 9 thousand 45 cases related to public property and 1 lakh 18 thousand 165 cases related to private property. The process of removing them is going on rapidly by all the district administrations. Under the Act, 41 thousand 788 cases of removal of banners, posters, wall writing etc. from government and private properties in Durg district, 2048 in Sukma, 5784 in Gariaband, 8928 in Bemetra, 2819 in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 16 thousand 973 in Balod, 4425 actions have been taken in Jashpur, 2931 inManendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur and 9876 in Surguja.
Under the Property Distortion Act, a total of 8935 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 4557 in Raigarh, 3942 in Surajpur, 4591 in Kanker, 27 thousand 881 in Bilaspur, 1383 in Dantewada, 23 thousand 137 in Mahasamund, 8531 in Janjgir-Champa, 823 in Bastar. , 19 thousand 343 in Korba, 12 thousand 339 in Kondagaon, 12 thousand 700 in Kabirdham, 1886 in Bijapur, 5774 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 16 thousand 927 in Rajnandgaon, 5917 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 4109 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Korea. The process of removing wall writing, posters and banners from 2816 properties in Uttar Pradesh, 191 in Narayanpur, 4542 in Mungeli, 6917 in Sakti, 8735 in Dhamtari and 33 thousand 126 properties in Raipur has been done till March 20.
