Mosque committee questions ASI survey of Bhojshala Complex
1 min readDhar (Team Newsbuddy) : Qazi Waqar Sadiq, representing the Muslim community managing the Kamal Maula Mosque, has accused the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) of excluding them from consultations during the ongoing survey of the Bhojshala complex. He claims neither committee members nor local Muslims were involved.
Sadiq further questions the need for repeated surveys and expresses concern about potential evidence manipulation by the ASI. He emphasizes the mosque’s importance and their continued right to daily prayers.
The Muslim community intends to pursue legal recognition for the mosque through the High Court and Supreme Court, contesting a recent petition dismissal (which they claim was due to a lawyer’s absence). They plan community meetings to gather support and evidence for the mosque’s authenticity.
This follows a petition by the Hindu community, claiming the complex as a temple, which led to the ASI survey ordered by the High Court.”
