Young man stab to death on Holi Festival, accused still at large

Bhatgaon. On the day of Holi, news of the murder of a young man has come to light in Bhatgaon area of the capital Raipur. The young man was brutally murdered by stabbing him with a knife. More than 12 blows were made on the whole body. It is said that the body of Mohit Sonkar, a resident of Bhatgaon BSUP Colony, was found lying in the area Bhatgaon. The reason for the murder is unknown.

According to the police, the local passersby informed the police that a dead body was lying near Sonkar Badi, then the police reached the spot and identified the young man as Mohit Sonkar. The deceased was killed by stabbing him more than 12 times on his body. The police made a Panchnama of the dead body and sent it to AIIMS hospital for postmortem, where after the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile family,m members informed that the deceased Mohit Sonkar lived in Bhatgaon BSUP Colony away from home and did other jobs including porter work around the liquor distillery. The mother of the deceased has appealed for the arrest of her son’s killer soon and strict punishment.
According to experts, the brutality with which the youth was murdered with a sharp weapon makes it more likely that the murderer was drunk, had an illicit relationship or committed the murder due to some old enmity. At present, the Purani Basti police station has registered a case of murder and started searching for the unknown killers.
