Voters can vote by showing 12 alternative photo documents

Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale informed that under Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Electoral Photo Identity Cards have been issued to all the voters by the Election Commission of India. The Commission expects all voters to show the Electoral Photo Identity Card issued by the Commission to ensure their identity before casting their vote at the polling station.
Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that if any voter is unable to show the photo identity card, then 12 alternative documents have also been allowed for them by the Election Commission of India. Voters who are unable to produce their Elector Photo Identity Card will have to produce any one of the following 12 alternate photo identity documents to establish their identity – Aadhaar Card, MNREGA Job Card, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Indian Passport, Pension Documents with Photo, Service Identity Cards with Photo issued by Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Public Limited Companies to their employees, Passbooks with Photo issued by Banks/Post Offices, Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR, Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, Government Identity Cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued to Divyaangjans by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Voters will be able to vote by producing any of these documents.
Overseas voters who are registered in the electoral rolls on the basis of details in their passports will be identified at the polling booth only on the basis of their original passports (and not any other identity documents).
