Many agencies including the Coast Guard, Fire Department say that many people are feared to be casualties in the accident. It is also being told that after the collapse of the bridge, many cars and people got submerged in water. Many people are also reported missing. Overall, this accident is pointing to a major loss. Baltimore Fire Department Director Kevin Cartwright has confirmed that about seven people and several vehicles drowned in the river.

The Coast Guard officer said that the ship was flying the flag of Singapore. The name of the cargo ship is Dali and it is 948 feet long. This ship had left for Colombo Sri Lanka from Baltimore. During this, the ship collided with the Francis Scott Bridge.
