Bhaiyaji Joshi releases Dr. Kamlesh Gogia’s book ‘I am Raveena’

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): On the occasion of a national level discussion on transgender rights, former RSS Sarkaryavah Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi, AIIMS New Delhi Director Dr. M Srinivas and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Joint Secretary Radhika Chakraborty along with many other dignitaries released the book ‘I am Raveena’ by Associate Professor and Senior Journalist Dr. Kamlesh Gogia of Hindi Department, School of Arts and Humanities, Mats University, Raipur.
A national level discussion on transgender rights was organized at Hindi Bhavan in New Delhi on 9 April 2024 under the joint aegis of Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samiti and Vidya Devi Charitable Trust. On this occasion, the country’s first annual calendar depicting multisexual expression in Indian culture and two books based on the lives of transgender persons, ‘I am Raveena’ and ‘Man Pakhi Tan Kara’ were released by former Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi and other guests. The book ‘I am Raveena’ written by senior journalist Dr. Kamlesh Gogia is a live document of the life struggle and spiritual journey of Raveena Bariha, member of the National Council for Transgender of the Government of India and founder of Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samiti. In this book, many untouched aspects of Raveena’s life struggles and her spiritual experiences have been revealed in simple and easy words. This book is divided into two parts, the first part of which was released after publication. In this ceremony, Dr. Kamlesh Gogia was honored by Mahamandaleshwar Shobha Thakur and Raveena Bariha of Jai Shri Mahakal Kinnar Akhara by presenting him a shawl for his writing work for transgender persons. AIIMS New Delhi Director Dr. M Srinivas, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Radhika Chakraborty, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Delhi Province State Sanghchalak Dr. Anil Agarwal, social worker and industrialist Rohit Verma, Rakesh Gupta, Delhi University Professor Prof. Krishna Murari, Mahamandaleshwar Shobha Thakur, Rashtriya Seva Bharati General Secretary Rishipal Singh Dadwal, Government of India’s National Council for Transgender member Vidya Rajput, Raveena Bariha, Meera Pareda, Reshma Prasad and many other eminent citizens and representatives of transgender community from various states of the country were present in the ceremony.
Other intellectuals involved in the discussion also expressed their views on the empowerment of the transgender community. Earlier, Ravina Bariha, member of the National Council for Transgender, elaborated on the history of transgenders and various contexts and laws in various dimensions of time from the Vedic era. At the end of the seminar, a cultural program was presented by transgenders in which they beautifully presented the historical background of transgender persons through a dance drama. The Mats University family expressed happiness and extended best wishes on the release of Dr. Kamlesh Gogia’s book.
