Late Abhay Chhajlani Memorial 2nd UICC FIDE Rating Chess Tournament

Indore : Unrated player Keshav Kaurav of Madhya Pradesh takes joint lead in presence of renowned rated players at the end of 4 rounds of Late Abhay Chhajlani Memorial 2nd UICC FIDE Rating Chess Tournament with prize money of Rs. 3 lakhs here.

According to Sunil Soni ( Secretary, United Indore Chess Club) chief guests at the opening ceremony were International player and Vikram Awardee Jayesh Acharya, Program President Dr. Bharat Sharma, Special Guest International Player and Vikram Awardee Nilesh Ved and former State Chess Winner Kamal Verma, Abhivyakti’s Center Head Mona Chaudhary and ACP Vivek Singh Chauhan were present at the inauguration. Also chief patron of the event Vinay Chhajlani was also present on this occasion.

Sunil Soni further informed that the tournament is played in the memory of Padma Shri and renowned journalist, late Abhay Chhajlani.
After the first 4 rounds, in the two-day tournament International Master Himal Gusain of Chandigarh, FIDE Master Ankit Gajwa of Indore, Candidate Master Rupesh Kant of Gwalior, Unrated player Keshav Kaurav of MP, Dishaant Jain of Indore, Mitansh Dixit of Bhopal, Indore experienced players like Anupam Nema and Nishit Singh, Priyanshu Patil of Indore are leading with 4 points. Out of the total 375 players in the tournament, 8 are title players who have come from more than 20 states to participate in this tournament. About 200 players from Indore are participating in this tournament which is a sign of growing love for chess in the city.

FIDE Master Ankit Gajwa bt Gir Raj Pathak, International Master Himal Gusain bt Harshit Dawar, Dere Pushkar bt Abhijeet Joglekar, Rupesh Kant bt Varshita Jain, Nishit Singh bt RK Gupta, FIDE Master Vrishank Chauhan bt Vivaan Jain, Ashwin Daniel bt Purushottam Joshi, Gaurav Nigam bt Sujay Jain, Arun Kataria bt Sahil Panchal, Mitansh Dixit bt Hitesh Zaria, Priyanshu Patil bt Rishon Jilova, Nema Anupam bt Yuval Parmar, Kamad Mishra bt Piyush Dubey, Kian Porwal bt Utkarsh Kumar and match between FIDE Master SK Rathore and Manish Srivastava ended in a draw.
