Corruption charges put Hemant Soren’s political career at stake

3 min read

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): For NDA in Jharkhand, repeating the 2019 record and for All India Alliance, former CM Hemant Soren being in jail is the biggest challenge. There is a direct fight on 13 out of 14 seats here. When the fourth phase will be held in the country, then the first will start in Jharkhand. Voting for the first phase will be held on 13 May, second on 20 May, third on 25 May and fourth on 1 June. For Hemant, who is surrounded by corruption charges, the credibility of both the government and the family is at stake. First phase; 4 seats… contest on 3; In the first phase, voting will be held in Singhbhum, Khunti, Lohardaga, Palamu. Out of these, the first 3 seats are reserved for ST and Palamu for SC. NDA people also believe that there is competition in Singhbhum, Khunti and Lohardaga, Palamu is safe in comparison to these. Currently, BJP is in possession of all these four seats. Citing Modi Magic as the basis, BJP supporters claim that there will be a clean sweep on all four. On the other hand, the grand alliance of JMM, Congress and RJD is putting in its strength. Second phase; 3 seats… close fight on 2 seats; voting will take place in Chatra, Koderma and Hazaribagh in the second phase. Currently, all three are occupied by BJP. This time, there will be an interesting fight in Hazaribagh and Chatra. BJP has changed its candidates on both the seats. However, BJP has not yet recovered from the crisis of sabotage. BJP has fielded Annapurna Devi from Koderma. She is pitted against CPI candidate Vinod Singh. If RJD supports, there will be a fight, otherwise, stopping Annapurna will be a challenge for ‘India’. A tough fight is seen on two seats right now. Third phase; 4 seats… trend is seen to be 3-1; voting on 4 seats (Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Giridih) of the third phase is on 25th May. All the four seats are occupied by NDA. The grand alliance is trying to surround BJP in its stronghold. BJP seems to be trapped on Dhanbad seat. It has a good hold on the other three. BJP’s position is strong in Jamshedpur right now. AJSU’s Chandraprakash Choudhary is contesting from Giridih for the second time. If NDA’s coordination remains intact, then the alliance will face difficulties here. Fear of sabotage due to cancellation of PN Singh’s ticket in Dhanbad
Fourth phase 3 seats… Challenge on 2; Fourth phase is on. Santhal is considered to be the stronghold of JMM. Voting for Godda, Rajmahal and Dumka seats will be held on 1st June. BJP wants to surround JMM in its stronghold. Nishikant Dubey is the BJP candidate from Godda. It is not easy to stop his chariot of victory. There are 21% Muslims, 16% Yadavs and 11% tribals in Godda. If there is polarization of votes, it will be a challenge for Nishikant. Dumka is the most important seat. Sita Soren, the elder daughter-in-law of JMM president Shibu Soren, is the BJP candidate from here. BJP has played a big gamble by fielding Sita. If Sita wins, JMM’s credibility will be reduced. Its benefit will be seen in the assembly elections to be held this year as well. Here 40% tribals are 18% Muslims. Similar maths (36% Muslims, 35% tribals) is also there in Rajmahal. BJP has made Tala Marandi its candidate. If we can make a dent in the tribal vote bank here, then we can sail through on these two seats.
