Tajinder Singh Bittu , Karamjit Kaur join BJP
2 min readNew Delhi (Team Newsbuddy) : Congress has suffered a major political setback in Punjab before the Lok Sabha elections. Congress National Secretary and Co-in-charge of Congress in Himachal Pradesh Tajinder Singh Bittu and Karamjit Kaur joined BJP here.
Tajinder Singh Bittu is considered very close to the Gandhi family and has also been in-charge of Rae Bareli. At the same time, Karamjit Kaur is the wife of late Chaudhary Santokh Singh, a veteran Congress leader and MP. The Chaudhary family has been associated with the Congress for the last several decades. Chaudhary Santokh Singh died of a sudden heart attack during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Tajinder Singh Bittu and Karamjit Kaur joined the BJP at the party headquarters on Saturday in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.
Vinod Tawde welcomed both the leaders into the party and said that Karamjit Kaur has contested the Lok Sabha by-election from Punjab. Tajinder Singh Bittu has been the All India Secretary of Congress and in-charge of many states, he has also been in-charge of Rae Bareli. However, this time Congress is not able to decide the candidate from Rae Bareli.
He said that both the leaders have decided to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vikasit Bharat Yatra and their arrival will make the party stronger. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also welcomed both the leaders into the BJP and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presenting a new model of development in every field of life, in every state of the country, seeing which the confidence in him is increasing in the minds of all the political workers of the country.
After joining the BJP, Tajinder Singh Bittu said that he worked in the Congress for 35 years and today he is very emotional to join the BJP.
