Bodies of 9 Naxalites recovered after encounter, search continues

Narayanpur (Team Newsbuddy): A total of nine Maoists’ bodies, including three women, have been recovered during an encounter in Abujhmad of the district. An AK-47 weapon along with a large quantity of ammunition and other items have also been recovered from the spot. This encounter took place in the forests of Tekmeta and Kakur, the border area of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
According to Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, nine Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with DRG and STF personnel on Tuesday morning in Abujhmad area of Naraypur on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. These include 3 female Naxalites. The bodies of all these have been recovered. A large quantity of weapons including an AK-47 have been recovered from the spot.
At the same time, Bastar IG P Sundarraj, while giving information on the Naxal encounter, said that seven Naxalites have been killed in the encounter. These also include two to three female Naxalites. The entire situation will be clear after bringing the bodies of the Naxalites. The search is still on. It is said that there are about 50 Naxalites.
A joint team of DRG and STF had gone out on Monday. The dead Maoists are being identified. Bastar IG Sundarraj has confirmed this. Earlier, in a press release issued by Bastar IG, it was told that many Naxalites were reported to be injured in the encounter. The search operation is going on in the area. All security personnel are safe.
It is worth noting that the country’s biggest Naxalite-police encounter took place in this area, in which 29 Naxalites were killed.
