16 Naxalites including LOS commander surrenders
1 min readBijapur (Team Newsbuddy): 16 Naxalites have surrendered in the Bijapur district. Including PLGA Battalion No. 1 member, LOS Commander, KAMS President, LGS member militia deputy commander joined the mainstream. A total reward of 16 lakhs was announced on these surrendered Naxalites. Arun Kadti, a member of the dreaded PLGA Battalion No. 1, who had a reward of 8 lakhs on his head, has also surrendered. All of them have been given Rs 25000 as incentive.
On the other hand, under the Lon Warratu campaign in Dantewada, on April 29, 23 Maoists surrendered in front of Deputy Inspector General of Police Dantewada Kamalochan Kashyap, Deputy Inspector General of Police CRPF Vikas Katheria, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai, Additional Superintendent of Police Smritik Rajnala, Second Command Officer CRPF Anil Kumar Jha, Satya Narayan Tanwar and Additional Superintendent of Police Ramkumar Barman at DRG office Dantewada.
Surrendered Naxalites’ lives will change under rehabilitation scheme
Out of 23 surrendered Maoists, 20 Maoists were handed over to DRG force Dantewada and 3 Maoists were handed over to RFT. CRPF had a special contribution in the surrender. Also, the stray Maoists have been appealed to give up violence and contact the nearest police station or camp to join the mainstream of the society and contribute to the development of the area. The Superintendent of Police said that the surrendered Maoists will be given an incentive amount of Rs. 25,000 each and all the benefits available under the rehabilitation scheme by the Chhattisgarh government.
