Big relief to IPS GP Singh, Bilaspur HC put stay on registered FIR
1 min readBilaspur ((Team Newsbuddy): IPS GP Singh has got a big relief from the double bench of the High Court, the court has put a stay on the FIR registered against him in Supela police station. GP Singh has filed a petition in the High Court to end this FIR.
According to the information, in the year 2015, Durg resident Kamal Sen had a dispute with builder Singhania regarding business transactions. During this, Singhania told Sen to call IPS GP Singh, but there was no talk on the phone. 6 years later, in 2021, Kamal Sen lodged an FIR in the Supela police station saying that GP Singh had threatened him by demanding 20 lakhs. On Kamal Sen’s application, a case of intimidation was registered against GP Singh in Supela police station of Bhilai. IPS Singh filed a petition in the High Court to cancel this FIR. The case was heard in the DB of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Rajni Dubey. The court admitted that the complainant has lodged a report with the police after 6 years, which is a very long time. Along with this, permission has to be taken under Section 197 to register a criminal case against a public servant, which was not done. Along with this, the High Court has put a stay on this FIR.
