Third generation of Gandhi family starts political journey from Rae Bareli

Rae Bareli (Team Newsbuddy): New history was made on Friday, May 3, 2024, on the ancestral Lok Sabha seat of Congress. Rahul Gandhi started the political journey of the third generation of the Gandhi family from Rae Bareli by filing nomination from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat. The Yuvraj of Congress took over the political legacy of his mother Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli. Talking about the history of Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat, Feroze Gandhi first contested and won the election in 1952. After that he also won the election in 1958. After his death, Indira Gandhi started her political innings by filing nomination from this seat in the 1967 elections. In such a situation, this seat became the legacy of the Gandhi family. In 2004, Indira Gandhi’s daughter-in-law Sonia Gandhi contested the election and was elected MP five times. Now Sonia Gandhi’s son Rahul Gandhi is going to take over the legacy of the Gandhi family by contesting from the Lok Sabha seat.

Before going to the Rajya Sabha, MP Sonia Gandhi had written a touching letter to the people of Rae Bareli, which went viral on social media. After this, speculations kept being made that someone from the Gandhi family will definitely contest the election from Rae Bareli. Priyanka Gandhi’s name was being considered from here, but at the last moment it was announced that her brother Rahul Gandhi will contest the election.
