NIT Raipur concludes workshop on ‘Mechanics, Materials for Biomedical Applications

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur’s Department of Biomedical Engineering concludes its week-long high-end workshop on “Mechanics & Materials for Biomedical Applications” with a valedictory session. The 7-day workshop attracted 25 participants from across India and featured 33 sessions led by distinguished professionals from prominent institutions like BARC, IIT BHU, IIT Delhi, NIPER and MNNIT, among many others. The workshop included a range of theoretical and hands-on training sessions, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

The valedictory session was attended by Dr. Prabhat Diwan, Dean (R&C), Dr. Shubhojit Ghosh, Chairman, CEC, NIT Raipur, Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh, Head, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Nishant K. Singh and Dr. M. Marieswaran, Program coordinators, and key faculty members and participants.

Dr. Prabhat Diwan extended his congratulations to the coordinators and participants and expressed appreciation for the contributions of SERB in supporting the event. He emphasized the department’s commitment to innovative research and wished the participants a bright future, noting that they had likely gained valuable experience from the workshop.

Dr. Nishant Singh provided a brief about the past 7 days of the workshop while Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh congratulated everyone involved and encouraged participants to carry forward the knowledge gained from the workshop. He highlighted that the insights acquired would be instrumental in advancing the field of biomedical engineering.

During the feedback session, participants shared their experiences, praising the workshop’s comprehensive content and engaging sessions. Topics ranged from Cardiovascular Biomechanics in by Dr. Sanjay Rai, IIT BHU, to Wound Closure Staples by Dr. Govinda, NIPER Kolkata, and Additive Manufacturing and Biomechanical Models for Biomaterials by Biomechanics Dr. Nitin Sahai, NEHU Shillong and Dr. Rati, NIT Raipur.

The session wrapped up with a certificate distribution ceremony, and it was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. M. Marieswaran.
