Gautam Gambhir likely to be new head coach of Team India?

The tenure of Team India’s current head coach Rahul Dravid will end with the T20 World Cup 2024, after which this position will be vacant. Regarding this, the BCCI has started the search for the next head coach, in which now one name is also associated with former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who is considered to be one of the favorite candidates of BCCI. Gautam Gambhir, who is currently playing the role of mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the 17th season of IPL. According to ESPN Cricinfo report, Gambhir was contacted by BCCI regarding this position, further talks with him will be held after the completion of the IPL season. For the notification issued by the BCCI regarding the position of the head coach of the Indian team, applicants have to submit their applications by May 27. Dravid had already informed the BCCI that he does not want to extend his tenure as the head coach after the T20 World Cup.
