Shalimar LTT train accident: Railways orders SAG level investigation

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Train number 18030 Shalimar LTT Express was passing through Urkura station in South East Central Railway Raipur Railway Division. At the site of the incident, the contractor of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL) was drilling under the railway line with a drilling machine without informing the Railways. At the same time, the glass of the windows of AC coaches B-4, B-5, B-6 of the train broke due to the head of the driller.
In which OBHS (cleaning staff) staff Narayan Chand Bagh, age 30 years, travelling in the train and another passenger (person) Dewari Lal Dhiwar, age 30 years, got injured in the hand. A 12 year old passenger who was travelling with his family from Kharagpur to LTT got injured near his eye. After treatment, he and his family were sent to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus by Visakhapatnam-LTT Express by arranging tickets for them.
A team of doctors and ambulance reached Raipur station within 5 minutes of the train’s arrival and the passengers were given first aid and the injured passengers were admitted to Narayana Hospital where their condition is better.
On getting information about the incident, Divisional Railway Manager of Raipur Railway Division Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Ashish Mishra, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) R K Sahu reached Raipur station. On reaching Raipur at 10.20, Shalimar-LTT Express reached Raipur, all the employees working at the station, Commercial Inspector, Senior Publicity Inspector, Railway Protection Force Jawans started taking care of the passengers with promptness. The injured passengers were admitted to Narayana Hospital and after confirming the safety of all other passengers, the train was sent further from Raipur station at 11:40.
