Shahdol (Team Newsbuddy): Commissioner Shahdol Division BS Jamod has described the Dagna practice as an inhuman act and said that continuous efforts should be made to remove the stigma of Dagna practice from Shahdol Division. The Commissioner has directed the officials that in order to completely curb the Dagna practice in Shahdol Division, people should be made aware of the Dagna practice, establish contact with the villagers and inform them about the legal provisions made regarding the Dagna practice. The Commissioner has directed that the officials of the Health Department and Women and Child Development should visit rural areas and ensure better and result-oriented implementation of health services and reference services run by Women and Child Development. The commissioner has directed that the block medical officer of the health department, the project officer of the women and child development department, supervisors and district level officers should regularly visit remote rural areas and try to improve health services and reference services. The commissioner has directed the joint director of the women and child development department and the chief medical and health officer to take strict disciplinary action against all those officers and employees who are showing indiscipline, negligence and indifference in stopping the practice of dagana and better implementation of health services.
