Truck ran over student going to coaching, dies on spot

Bhilai (Team Newsbuddy): A major accident took place near Sector-8 Panthi Chowk on Thursday evening. A student going to coaching in Zonal Market Sector-10 was going on her scooty, during this time a truck hit her from behind and crushed her. The student died on the spot. After the incident, the driver fled leaving the truck there. After this, the truck driver himself reached Bhilai Nagar police station and surrendered.

At present, Bhilai Nagar Police is investigating the accident. According to the information received, Riddhima Sahu, a student studying in Scholar Empire Coaching Center, became a victim of the accident. Riddhima was going to coaching on her Activa CG BA 3875 around 5:30 pm on Thursday evening. While turning near Panthi Chowk Sector-8, the vehicle was suddenly crushed by a truck coming from behind. The driver fled after the accident. Eyewitnesses said that the girl riding the scooter was wearing a helmet.
