Vultures will be GPS tagged for protection, food , water will also be arranged

Jagdalpur (Team Newsbuddy): Vultures found in Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur will be tagged and GPS will be installed. This will reveal every secret of vultures. Reserve officials are making efforts for this. The role of vultures is also very high socially. Vultures are scavengers and eat the carcasses of large animals in a short time.

This specialty of theirs also makes them special in terms of environmental cleanliness. 140 vultures of 3 extinct species were found in a village adjacent to Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur. For this, tagging will be done for the purpose of knowing its existence. Along with this, it will be released by putting tags and GPS. Data will be prepared by knowing its location and activities through GPS tracker. Devices will be installed between the wings on the back of the birds. Their every activity will be monitored through satellite tags. Information will also be collected about the food, water status and habitat of the vultures.

Chief Forest Conservator (Wildlife) and Regional Director of Indravati Tiger Reserve Jagdalpur Rajesh Kumar Pandey said that the vultures will be tagged. Research experts will be called for this.
