Chief Minister Sai directed the officials to research causes of kidney diseases in Supebeda and implement a permanent solution

Raipur,(Team Newsbuddy) : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a review meeting of the Health Department , accompanied by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. He discussed various issues concerning the department and instructed officials to take necessary actions. He highlighted a concerning number of kidney patients from the Supebeda region and stated that while a dialysis unit has been established in Gariaband for treatment, a permanent solution is imperative. He directed officials to conduct research to identify the causes of these diseases and ensure adequate treatment arrangements. The goal is to eradicate kidney-related issues in Supebeda through comprehensive healthcare initiatives. Chief Minister Sai also called for the establishment of dialysis centres in areas like Pakhanjur, which are seeing a higher influx of patients. He reviewed the status of ongoing health schemes in the state and directed the officials to enhance monitoring for improved scheme implementation.

Chief Minister Sai reviewed the status of health infrastructure and facilities in the state and stated that the health department has made significant progress over the last six months. He instructed officials to complete the pending projects from the previous government soon. With the upcoming monsoon season in mind, he directed the officials to take necessary measures to manage seasonal diseases and ensure the availability of anti-venom antidotes in hospitals. He directed the officials to fill vacant specialist doctor positions as soon as possible and ensure that anesthesiologists are posted alongside gynaecologists to facilitate Caesarean deliveries when necessary.

Chief Minister Sai instructed officials to ensure that 108, 102, and hearse vehicles are in good condition. He mandated that 108 ambulances be equipped with screens to display the nearest hospital for the patient. He also instructed the officials to adopt a system to alert the nearest government hospital doctor via message to prepare for the emergency response.

Chief Minister emphasised that district headquarters should have at least two ambulances equipped with Advanced Life Support systems. He stated that achieving 100% institutional deliveries is a top priority and regular ANC checkups must be ensured. To reduce infant mortality, he directed the officials to increase the number of neonatal care units in the hospitals. He also instructed officials to maximise coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and address any shortcomings in its implementation. Furthermore, he directed that all beneficiaries of the Niyad Nellanar Yojana should have Ayushman cards and that regular Aadhaar camps should be conducted in these areas.

Health Department officials informed that beneficiaries are being provided Ayushman cards under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana. In the past six months, 1373 beneficiaries have received treatment worth Rs 1.38 crore. Chief Minister Sai emphasised the importance of focusing on Jan Aushadhi Kendras and suggested strategically locating them to maximise public access to medicines. He reviewed the schemes for TB, leprosy, and malaria prevention, He stated that the malaria-free campaign has shown positive results but there is a need for intensified efforts to make Bastar malaria-free.

Regarding sickle cell disease, the Chief Minister directed officials to propose the establishment of a national-level research centre to the Central Government. He emphasised the importance of regular counselling and improved treatment for sickle cell patients. He instructed officials to provide operators where equipment is available but not in use. Additionally, he directed the officials to expand the chemotherapy facilities and provide dialysis facilities at block headquarters. He also called for the establishment of new hospitals for mental health patients.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal directed officials to ensure continuous monitoring of Chhattisgarh’s sex ratio, which is already in a better condition but needs further improvement. He praised the Chirayu scheme as an excellent initiative and emphasised the need for extensive promotion to reach more beneficiaries. Additionally, he urged the Chief Minister to integrate the urban mobile medical units and Dhanwantari Yojana into the Health Department to enhance coordination and implementation.
