32 Students from Prayas School Qualify for JEE Advanced in 12th Grade

Prayas School Competing with Renowned Coaching Institutes

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy) : The Prayas School in Raipur is giving tough competition to well-known coaching institutes. 32 students from this school, currently in 12th grade, have qualified for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced, making them eligible for admission to various IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and equivalent national institutes. Most students who get into the country’s top technical institutes (IITs and equivalents) usually prepare for one or two years after 12th grade. However, the 32 students from Prayas School have achieved their goal of getting into these prestigious technical institutes while still studying in 12th grade. The JEE is a tough national-level competitive exam in which lakhs of students from across the country participate.

In the recently announced JEE Advanced results on June 9, Kuldeep Kumar from Prayas School in Raipur secured an All India Category Rank of 459. Omprakash Netam got an All India Category Rank of 473, and Rudraksh Bhagat achieved an All India Category Rank of 825. Coming from impoverished tribal families in the remote regions of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Kondagaon, and Surguja, these three children have achieved significant academic success. Their fellow students also performed remarkably: Trilok Pankara secured an All India Category Rank of 1123, Liladhar Thakur secured 1174, Pankaj Rawate secured 1592, Gaind Lal secured 1638, Adarsh Raj Pankara secured 1661, and Shubham Kashyap secured 1801. These children come from remote and Tribal regions of the state. Under the skilled guidance of teachers at Prayas School, these students have taken a significant step towards achieving their dreams through hard work and talent.

Prayas School in Raipur helps talented tribal students from grades 9 to 12 fulfil their dreams of studying at prestigious technical institutes like IITs and NITs. In April, 64 students from this school qualified for JEE Mains, making them eligible for JEE Advanced, and now, 32 of them have also qualified for JEE Advanced. Those who have cleared JEE Advanced can take admission in various IITs and equivalent institutes, while those who qualified for JEE Mains can pursue their dreams at NITs and similar institutes. Over the last five years, Prayas School has seen 51 of its students secure admission in various IITs, and 94 students getting selected for NITs by clearing the challenging national-level JEE exams.

Children from remote and tribal areas of Chhattisgarh are studying at Prayas School in Saddu, Raipur. The school has around 700 students from grades 9 to 12. In the 2023-24 academic year, 166 students were studying in mathematics (PCM) stream. Manjula Tiwari, Principal of Prayas School, explains that students in grades 11th and 12th are taught with a focus on preparation for competitive exams like JEE along with board exams. Due to the school’s integrated approach to education, students perform well in both board exams and competitive exams. She also mentioned that students are grouped based on their intellectual level and classroom performance to address their academic issues. Many students from Prayas School are selected not only for IITs and NITs but also for other engineering colleges every year.
