Chief Minister announces plans to establish new Anusuchit Janjati Kalyan (AJK) police stations in newly formed districts
Raipur(Team Newsbuddy) : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the review meeting of the Home Department along with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma . He took a strong stance and asserted that the law and order situation must not deteriorate under any circumstances in the state. If any issues arise, those responsible will be held accountable, and swift actions will be taken against them. He underscored the importance of the police projecting a strict yet compassionate image to the public. He instructed the officials to build trust between the police and the community through effective mechanisms. He emphasised that enhanced public trust in the police will yield positive outcomes for the development of the state.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to make all necessary preparations for the new laws taking effect in July. He also directed the officials to take strict action against drug addiction, gambling, and betting across the state. He instructed the officials to address the complaints against illicit liquor, gambling, and betting and stated that district-level authorities would be accountable for such activities. The Chief Minister also called for the cessation of gambling and betting activities and instructed the officials to take stringent action against chit-fund companies. He stressed the timely recovery of funds from these chit-fund companies to benefit the investors.
Chief Minister Sai stated, “The presence of the police administration should instil a sense of security in the people of the state. We aim to eradicate Naxalism, and our relentless campaign against Naxal terror will be intensified. The police have achieved significant successes in this endeavour and deserve commendation. The battle against Naxalism will continue with determination.” He also assured the officials, “Under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, the government has allocated sufficient funds for the overall development of the villages within a 5 km radius of police camps. There will be no lack of resources to achieve our objectives under this scheme.”
The Chief Minister announced plans to establish new AJK police stations in newly formed districts. He emphasised expediting the recruitment and promotion processes for vacant positions within the police department. Regular training programs will be organised for officers and jawans to enhance their capacity. He assured the officials that the state government is committed to providing ample resources to strengthen and empower the police force.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma emphasised the need to prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively address the law and order situations. This will ensure prompt action and proper training for the police and administration. He directed the senior police officers to tour the districts and monitor the status of law and order.
DGP Ashok Juneja informed that crime rates in the state are continuously falling. For women’s safety, the state has established four women’s police stations and six units dedicated to investigating crimes against women. Additionally, 553 women’s help desks and family counselling centres have been set up across all 33 districts. Victimised women can access emergency services and file complaints online through the ‘Abhivyakti’ app. This year’s budget includes the establishment of five more women’s police stations. Four new cyber police stations will be opened in Raigarh, Korba, Rajnandgaon, and Kabirdham districts. To combat human trafficking, an Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau will be established at the state level. In the fight against cybercrime, authorities have successfully prevented Rs 22.12 crore from falling into the hands of fraudsters. Significant efforts are also underway to ensure the safety of young children in the state. These efforts have achieved a 92% success rate in rescuing missing children. In cases of human trafficking, about 99% of victims have been rescued. Additionally, a special campaign called ‘Operation Muskaan’ is being conducted to locate missing children and reunite them with their guardians.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, DGP Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua and other senior officers of the Home and Jail departments were present.
