Raipur: Earlier, the number of Naxalites in Bastar never decreased, but the number increased every year by new recruitment. Increase in the number of Naxalites in Bastar means increase in Naxalite activities, increase in Naxalite terror in villages. The simple math is that more Naxalites means more terror. Less Naxalites means less terror. Earlier governments wanted to end Naxalite terror without reducing the number of Naxalites but were unable to do so because more Naxalites were recruited than those killed. This did not reduce the number of Naxalites and the terror of Naxalites also did not reduce.

The Vishnudev Sai government of Chhattisgarh is different from other governments of the state in this matter that it does not even think that the terror of Naxalites can be ended without reducing the number of Naxalites. Bastar can be made Naxal-free. Its simple thinking is that to make Bastar Naxal-free, it is necessary to reduce the number of Naxalites in Bastar. It should be reduced every day. Even if for this Naxalites have to be killed daily, Naxalites have to be arrested daily or such a situation is created in Bastar that Naxalites surrender in large numbers every day. The number of Naxalites in Bastar is decreasing rapidly because the government’s Naxal elimination campaign continues every evening.

Every week it is found out where the Naxalites are moving from and where and then they are surrounded on the spot and killed in as large a number as possible. That too in that area which was once considered a safe fort of Naxalites, where the police going there meant not returning safely. This time the soldiers had an encounter with the Naxalites in the Abujhmad forest of Narayanpur. During this encounter, the soldiers killed eight Naxalites. This operation started on Thursday and was completed after 48 hours late on Saturday night. The security forces claim that many Naxalites have been injured by bullets, the Naxalites fled from the field only to save them.
900 jawans from four districts carried out this operation. CM Sai congratulated the jawans on killing of eight Naxalites and expressed grief on the martyrdom of one jawan. He said that the government is ready to eliminate the Naxalites. We will not sit quiet till the target is accomplished. In true sense, now the state has got a strong CM who is serious about eliminating the Naxalites and efforts are being made with full seriousness for that. The result of the government becoming aggressive is that the Naxalites are on the backfoot. Instead of attacking, they are avoiding facing the security forces, therefore in Bastar the number of jawans killed or martyred by the Naxalites has reduced in the last few months.
