Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): The renewal of ration cards and e-KYC for all ration card holders in the state must be completed by June 30 this year as per directives of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department. This includes Antyodaya, Priority, Single Destitute, Disabled, and APL scheme ration cards. E-KYC is mandatory for renewal of ration cards. Currently, there are over 77 lakh ration card beneficiaries in the state, with nearly 70 lakh having already renewed their cards.

Bijapur district leads in renewal efforts, with 71,145 out of 71,368 beneficiaries having renewed their ration cards. Narayanpur district follows, with 35,831 out of 36,167 beneficiaries completing the process. Sukma district is third, with about 78,000 out of 78,752 beneficiaries renewing their cards.

The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has introduced a new mobile app for ration card renewal, available for download on the Play Store or department’s website http://khadya.cg.nic.in. Beneficiaries can also visit fair price shops to complete their renewal and e-KYC online.

For e-KYC, the biometric information of every beneficiary must be updated. Members with Child Aadhaar must first update their biometrics at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. After this, e-KYC can be completed at the e-POS machine in a fair price shop. The e-KYC and ration card renewal services are free.
