Murder during robbery in capital

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): If you are asking for a lift from a stranger, then be careful… because the person giving the lift can snatch and take your life. A similar case has come to light from the capital Raipur. Here, asking for a lift from bike riders proved costly for a young man. The accused who gave the lift took him to a deserted place and started robbing him. When the victim protested, the accused together killed the young man.

Actually, the incident is from Purani Basti police station area. Around 12 o’clock on the night of June 24, Mangal Muria, son of Sitaram Muria, 21 years, resident of Mana Camp, was standing near Kalibari to ask for a lift. Meanwhile, the minor riding on bike number CG 04 PL 1802 and his companion Sawan Dongre stopped the vehicle. Both gave lift to the deceased Mangal Muria. After this, the accused made the deceased sit and took him to BSUP Colony Bhatgaon. Near Block No. 10, both the accused beat Mangal Muria and searched his pockets and snatched his ATM card, passbook, PAN card and mobile. Then, when he did not share the ATM card password, both of them beat him with hands, fists and punches and threw him on the ground. Due to which the youth got injured and fainted.

On getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and the injured was admitted in critical condition. He died the next day on 25 June during treatment.

Revelation in interrogation

During the investigation, the accused and the minor accused were trying to run away due to fear of getting caught, but before they could run away, Purani Basti police caught both of them. On strict interrogation, he told that on the night of 24 June, Sawan Dongre alias Somu had gone to visit Kalibari with the minor accused on his friend Raju Banchhor’s motorcycle. While returning, a boy near Kali temple signaled to stop. When the motorcycle was stopped, he said to drop him further. The accused made him sit on the motorcycle and went to BSUP Colony Bhatgaon. Here, they took him behind a paan stall near Block No. 10, beat him up and searched his pockets. ATM card, passbook, cards and mobile were found. When he was asked for the ATM card password and he did not tell them, both of them beat him up and ran away. The police caught both the accused and arrested them today on 30th June and sent them to judicial custody.
