IPS Arundev Gautam, Himanshu Gupta become DG of Chhattisgarh, state government issue orders

Raipur(News Newsbuddy): There are two posts of DG in Chhattisgarh, while the state government has the right to create two more posts. The state’s Director General of Police Ashok Juneja will retire in the month of August. The state government has issued this order after getting the green signal from the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).

The state government has issued an order to promote Indian Police Service officers Arun Dev Gautam (1992 batch) and Himanshu Gupta (1994 batch) from Additional Director General of Police (ADG) to Director General of Police (DG). The name of IPS officer Pawan Dev is currently sealed in the envelope in the race for DG. There are two posts of DG in Chhattisgarh, while the state government has the right to create two more posts. The state’s Director General of Police Ashok Juneja will retire in the month of August.

The state government has issued this order after getting the green signal from the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). Both IPS officers are currently officers of Chhattisgarh cadre. IPS Arun Dev Gautam is originally from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. He is currently the Secretary of Home Jail and Transport Department, while IPS Himanshu Gupta is originally from Jaipur in Rajasthan. He is currently working as ADG Administration.

Names of both officers for DGP

Names of both officers are prominent in the race for DGP. In this, the name of Arun Dev Gautam is being taken first. He can also be brought forward due to strategy against Naxalites and long experience in the affected area. In the coming days, important changes can be seen in the top posts of the police department.

About Arun Dev Gautam*

IPS officer Arun Dev Gautam has been awarded the United Nations Medal and the President’s Medal. He was born on 2 July 1967. He received his primary education from the village school. He is an MA in Politics. He started working in the Indian Police Service on 12 October 1992. He was first to receive the Madhya Pradesh cadre in undivided Madhya Pradesh.

After the Jheeram Valley attack on 25 May 2013, Arun Dev was sent as Bastar IG. Earlier in 2009, he was made the SP of Rajnandgaon after the sacrifice of 29 police personnel in the Naxalite attack in Rajnandgaon. After becoming DIG, he gave important services in Chhattisgarh Armed Force, CID, Chief Minister Security, Planning, Administration.

About Himanshu Gupta

Himanshu Gautam was born on 30 June 1969. After graduating in BE Electronics, he passed the UPSC exam. He joined the Indian Police Service on 10 January 1995. Along with being the IG of Surguja and Durg Range, Himanshu Gupta has been the SP of Dhamtari, Korba, Jagdalpur etc. districts. While being the Durg IG, he was promoted to the post of ADG. Under the leadership of Himanshu Gautam, the police department achieved significant successes in planning, administration as well as investigation. He became ADG Gupta Varta after IG Gupta Varta.
