Bijapur (Team Newsbuddy): Chhattisgarh government’s Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, during his one-day stay in Bijapur district, conducted a detailed review of the works of the health department of Bastar division including Bijapur district. During this, former minister Mahesh Gagda, Additional Chief Secretary Health Manoj Pingua, Health Director Rituraj Raghuvanshi, Mission Director National Health Mission Jagdish Sonkar, Collector Anurag Pandey, CEO District Panchayat Hemant Ramesh Nandanwar and public representatives were present.
Under the Malaria Free Chhattisgarh campaign, instructions were given for immediate 100% malaria testing in all residential schools, potacabins, hostels, ashrams, Eklavya schools including Navodaya and all residential institutions. In positive cases, instructions were given to provide better treatment to the students in the hospital and to create awareness about completing all the doses of malaria by giving advice to their parents. It is essential to prevent widespread infection of malaria, diarrhea and water-borne diseases during the rainy season. For which instructions were given to work on a large scale, to ensure that there is no water accumulation in residential schools, regular and compulsory use of mosquito nets and spraying of medicines. Instructions were given to all the CMHOs, Civil Surgeons and DPMs of the division to implement all necessary measures for the prevention of malaria, diarrhea and seasonal diseases.
Microscopes will be arranged in all the blocks of Bastar division – To bring promptness in malaria investigation and report, microscopes will be arranged in all the block headquarters of Bastar division in which malaria slides can be examined. With this arrangement, better treatment will be available to the patient on time due to getting the report of malaria quickly. Due to which any kind of untoward incident can be avoided.
Malaria testing activities will be monitored at the state level through the portal – Health Minister Shri Jaiswal directed all the districts of Bastar Division to create a portal related to malaria testing and treatment so that monitoring can be done at the state level.
