Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, 50 people missing after cloudburst
2 min readShimla (Team Newsbuddy): There has been an incident of cloudburst near Rampur and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. News of cloudburst in Samej of Sarpara Panchayat of Shimla and Tikan area of Mandi has been reported.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu wrote on social media, “Very sad news has been received about more than 50 people missing due to cloudburst in Rampur tehsil of Shimla, Padhar tehsil of Mandi district and Jaon, Nirmand village of Kullu.” He writes, “Teams of NDRF, SDRF, Police, Home Guard and Fire Services are engaged in relief, search and rescue work. The local administration has been instructed to carry out relief and rescue work smoothly.”
The CM said- I am in touch with the officials and monitoring the relief and rescue operations. The state government is committed to provide all possible help.
Himachal Pradesh government minister Jagat Singh Negi said that 36 people have gone missing due to cloudburst in Samej of Sarpara Panchayat in Shimla district.
He said that cloudburst has been reported in Tikan area of Mandi. Two bodies have been recovered and 8 people are missing.
He said that the barrage of the power project in Malana of Kullu has broken. Many people are stranded due to loss of road connectivity. The stranded people will be rescued.

He said that 4 motor bridges have broken in Nirmand sub division of Kullu.
More than 25 foot bridges have been reported damaged. He said that orders have been given to the concerned departments to restore connectivity soon.
Jatag Singh Negi said that the Chief Minister has called an emergency meeting.
