New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan has welcomed the cancellation of the advertisement of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for appointment through lateral entry.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan said on Tuesday, “The central government has reaffirmed its commitment to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC).”

He said while addressing a press conference in Patna, “I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). The government has set an example. It is hoped that in future the governments will take care of the sentiments of the people.”

What did he say about the opposition parties?

Chirag Paswan has also responded to the opposition parties criticizing the central government over the matter.

He said, “If the opposition points fingers at us, they should remember that three fingers are pointed at them too. Why did these parties not ensure recruitment to the posts reserved for SC, ST and OBC while in power?”

Chirag Paswan said, “Our government has been in power for 10 years, but still the opposition is selectively criticizing the NDA. The opposition is silent on the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in West Bengal.”

On Tuesday, UPSC withdrew the advertisement for recruitment through lateral entry on the instructions of the central government. UPSC took this decision amid the central government being surrounded by other opposition parties including Congress.
