Supreme Court urges doctors to return to work

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): The hearing of the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is going on in the Supreme Court on Thursday. The incident has sparked outrage across the country, after which doctors and the medical community staged a massive protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The protesters questioned the action of the administration, demanding justice. Doctors are on strike across the country. The Supreme Court urged the doctors to return to work, saying that humanity is waiting for you.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) appealed to the doctors to end the strike and return to work. The CJI said that if the doctors do not return to work, there could be a serious impact on the public administrative structure. He made it clear that the concerns of the doctors will be heard and resident doctors will not be included in the National Task Force (NTF). This decision has been taken to reduce the growing discontent among doctors.

The CBI has submitted its status report in this case to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court judges are studying this report. The report states what information has come out so far in the investigation of the last 9 days. The Supreme Court had directed the CBI to submit its investigation report in this case by August 20.
The Supreme Court also said that discussions are being held on the facilities and security of doctors. A concrete result will come out on this. Doctors should return to work. The sick are waiting for them in the hospital. Refusing to include resident doctors in the National Task Force, it said that you should return to work, the team that has been formed is fully capable, can think seriously about all aspects.

It is worth noting that on August 13, the Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation of this rape-murder case to the CBI. Seeing the seriousness of this case, the Supreme Court is also keeping a close watch on this matter.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Police has submitted its investigation report of the vandalism in the hospital on the night of August 14-15 to the Supreme Court. This incident had made the matter even more sensitive. The Supreme Court reprimanded the West Bengal government and police for negligence in this matter, and has demanded accountability from them.

The case has generated deep concern in the medical community and other sections of society, and is being investigated under the supervision of the Supreme Court to expedite the process of justice.
