Buses to run on new routes for passengers between Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh

Agreement between officials of Transport Department of both the states

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy). After 17 years, a meeting was organized by Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Transport Department for expansion of passenger facilities and smooth traffic at the initiative of the departments of both the states on 11 September at Mantralaya Vallabh Bhawan, Bhopal. On behalf of the state of Madhya Pradesh, this meeting was attended by S. N. Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government, Transport Department and on behalf of the state of Chhattisgarh, S. Prakash, Secretary, Transport Department cum Transport Commissioner, Chhattisgarh.

To enhance the inter-state mutual traffic agreement signed between Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh in the year 2007 on various issues of the Transport Department between the two states, an agreement was reached to add 34 new routes by Chhattisgarh State and 19 new routes by Madhya Pradesh State. Apart from this, consensus was reached on many important points including increase in the number of trips due to no vacancy in 36 out of 81 routes of mutual agreement, inclusion of agreed routes in the mutual agreement, modernization of traffic, not levying any kind of tax on free zone, speedy resolution of related issues. Action on all decisions taken in the meeting will be taken in the coming days as per the legal process. C.B. Chakraborty, Secretary, Transport Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, D.P.
