School books sold as waste to commit corruption: Congress

2 min read

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy) :Former All India Congress Committee Secretary and former MLA Vikas Upadhyay, while addressing a press conference, said that two days ago a big sensational area was disclosed and the negligence of the government was exposed. A huge stock of school books was found in the warehouse of a paper mill in Real Board Paper Mill, Siliyari Siliyari. On investigating the matter, it was found that these books were sold as waste.

Lakhs of books are being thrown into the junk at Real Paper Mill in Siliyari, Raipur. These are the same books which were printed by the government for free distribution to the students. The government printed the books, but instead of delivering them to the students, sold them as waste. This is a vivid example of huge corruption with education and the future of children. These books were published by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation, which were to be given to the students free of cost.

The possibility of a big corruption cannot be ruled out in this whole matter. On one hand, children in government schools across the state are facing a shortage of books, on the other hand, this case of undistributed books being sold as waste at kilo rates shows how the game of corruption in printing and distributing books is going on.

Corruption worth crores of rupees is directly visible in this entire episode and such corruption cannot be carried out unless people from top to bottom are involved in this episode.

On the other hand, the present government has formed a five-member investigation team to complete the formality of this entire episode, out of which two people have already been involved in corruption. Instead of this investigation team, we demand a CBI inquiry or an inquiry under the leadership of a retired judge.

The Congress Party will hold a big movement on this issue. The question is: “Who is responsible for these books being thrown in the garbage?” This is not just a political issue, but a question of the future of lakhs of children.

The Congress Party, while talking about raising this issue in the House, has also demanded the government, which is throwing the future of children in the garbage, to issue a white paper and clarify the situation. State Congress Communication Department President Sushil Anand Shukla, former MP Chhaya Verma, former MLA Anita Sharma and Rural District President Udhoram Verma participated in today’s press conference.
