“Grand ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program organized outside Raipur Railway Station

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): A grand ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program was organized outside Raipur Railway Station by the Raipur Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Raipur. This year, the theme of the event was “Natural Cleanliness – Cleanliness as a Value.” The program is part of a nationwide initiative that will be celebrated from September 17 to October 2.

The chief guest of the event, Purandar Mishra, MLA of Raipur North, addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of cleanliness in daily life. “Cleanliness is not just a habit but a way to ensure prosperity in both society and mind,” said Mishra, who also led the attendees in taking a cleanliness pledge.

Dr. R.K. Dongre, Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Zone 2, emphasized that the Raipur Municipal Corporation is always proactive when it comes to cleanliness and is a leader in the state. He assured that the entire municipal team is working continuously to maintain and improve the cleanliness of the city, with active cooperation from the public.

Arpit Tiwari, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, highlighted the ongoing efforts of MY Bharat volunteers in promoting cleanliness and reducing the use of single-use plastic. He mentioned that this cleanliness drive will continue in both rural and urban areas of Raipur until October 2. The program has already been conducted in several locations, including the Inter-State Bus Terminal in Boriyakhurd.

Sunita Chansoria, a professor at Durga College, Raipur, spoke about the ongoing efforts of MY Bharat and the Environment Committee students at her college, who work throughout the year to raise awareness about polythene prevention and contribute to social reform.

Councilors from all wards under Zone 2 also participated in the event. Over 400 youths from various institutions, including MY Bharat volunteers, Durga College, Gurukul College, Nivedita School, and Shaheed Smarak Higher Secondary School, actively took part in the program.

The event, with its enthusiastic turnout, aims to foster a deeper sense of cleanliness and community responsibility across Raipur as part of the larger Swachhata Hi Seva movement, which is being celebrated nationwide
